The Orihuela Costa

The Orihuela Costa is 16 kilometres of coast shared between six beaches: Punta Prima, Playa Flamenca, La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Campoamor and Mil Palmeras. Every year the beaches have been granted the Blue Flag by the European Union for their excellent state of services, hygiene and conservation. The beaches are well signposted and possess a range of services such as showers, footbaths, ramps, children's play areas, lifeguard services, beach security guards and special areas of relaxation.

Also along this stretch of coast there is a succession of sandy coves backing onto cliffs which are very popular with tourists and residents alike due to the crystal clear waters and the golden sand. The little beach bars, "chiringuitos", serve tapas, snacks and cold drinks and are a good place to watch the world go by.

This stretch of coast has two sports marinas, one at Cabo Roig and the other in Campoamor where nautical sports can be practiced. The Playa Flamenca beach has a first-aid station, game zone, public telephone, public lavatories and showers, as well as numerous restaurants.

Things to do and places to visit.

Just a short walk away is a new shopping centre with all the latest names, plus restaurants and a bowling ally. Keep the sea to the back of you and walk over the N332 and you will see it on your right.

CALOSSA

If you love the out door life, a day out walking up in the Callosa Mountains is a must. It is not a hard walk but it becomes narrow and steep near the top, but as long as you take your time then it is safe enough with many picnic areas on the way up which have small tables and chairs where you can look at the views. Located in the village of Callosa, just park up and look for one of the many footpaths that lead to the mountains.

LES FONTS DE L'ALGAR

This is a Fantastic beauty spot where a natural waterfull drops into a large pool where visitors can have a great swim. It can get busy but well worth a visit. Head towards the village of Callosa den Sarria and you will pick up the signs.
